Being situated around a harbor, Gig Harbor is the ideal place to live, especially if you are into boating. For all the boat owners out there, there are 8 marinas located in the downtown area where you can moor your boat, such as Murphy's Landing where The Lee Team has a new listing, along with a public boat launch. Driving through the historic downtown, on Harborview Drive, shops can be found that cater specifically to boaters and kayakers.
Not a boat owner but still looking to have some fun on the water? There are a handful of boat rental services that have all kinds of watercraft, including: houseboats, kayaks, paddleboards, pedal boats, canoes, and powerboats! If you're not looking to operate a boat, tours of the harbor are available at Destiny Harbor Tours.
If you are not looking for something to do on the water, there is still plenty for you to do in the downtown harbor area. There is the yearly Maritime Festival and Parade, which happens during the first week of June. There is also the Harbor History Museum and JW Restaurant, both located near Murphy's Landing.
